Job description
Advise retirement plan participants — and grow with the relationships you build.
Our client is a growth-oriented retirement advisory firm that works directly with 401(k) plan participants on the decisions that shape their retirement. This role exists to engage those participants one-on-one — providing guidance on retirement planning, investment allocation, tax considerations, contribution strategies, and rollover options — while identifying the relationships worth deepening into long-term advisory clients.
This is a high-interaction, high-discipline seat. Success comes from enjoying frequent client conversations, maintaining consistent outreach and follow-up, and converting participant conversations into lasting advisory relationships. Professionals seeking a slower-paced, low-contact environment will likely find this role challenging — the client interaction is the point.
What makes this role unique?
A genuine path into broader advisory work. This isn't a static service seat. Professionals who excel at building participant relationships often expand into broader advisory and business-development roles at the firm, with meaningful long-term career and financial upside.
Performance that's measured and rewarded. A stable $70,000 base anchors the role, with additional incentive compensation tied directly to activity, client engagement, and asset growth — so strong work translates into real reward.
A collaborative, responsive culture. The firm is built around accessibility to clients, fast information-sharing, ownership of outcomes rather than tasks, and high standards for professionalism and precision. The team works closely and supports one another in real time.
What you will do
Advise plan participants on investment allocations, retirement readiness, contribution strategies, tax considerations, and beneficiary planning.
Help participants make plan updates — adjusting contribution levels and investments, and building retirement projections.
Educate participants on rollover options and retirement income strategies.
Conduct proactive outreach to schedule consultations, and identify when a participant relationship can appropriately transition into an advisory client relationship.
Deliver clear, compliant, thoughtful guidance, and maintain detailed documentation of every interaction in the firm's CRM.
Follow established processes to ensure consistency, compliance, and an exceptional participant experience.
The ideal candidate
Bachelor's degree, an active Series 65 license, and either a CFP or ChFC designation.
Experience advising retirement plan participants or financial services clients, with strong consultative communication skills.
A high level of organization and CRM discipline — you document thoroughly and follow structured processes.
Preferred: experience with employer-sponsored retirement plans, high-volume call or outreach experience, and a demonstrated track record of identifying new client relationships or growing AUM.
